For Families
HOW WHOLE CHILD CAN HELP YOU
An established Whole Child Community can:
- Connect you and your children to appropriate services and resources (as efficiently as possible) through use of web-based technology called the “Whole Child Connection.”
- Provide you and your children’s caregivers with tools and activities that help foster a nurturing environment for children by addressing all Six Dimensions of a Whole Child
- Share information with you about local resources and opportunities for children and families
- Engage all segments of the community in planning and implementing Whole Child activities for your family
- Identify root causes and address critical issues affecting child well-being in your community
- Measure community-wide progress toward improving child well-being across all dimensions of the Whole Child, helping to make your community a family-friendly community
HOW YOU CAN HELP WHOLE CHILD
There are many ways you can get involved in support of the Whole Child Project to ensure all children in Florida thrive.
Adopt the Whole Child philosophy, and:

- Invite another family to join you at your place of worship and introduce them to the congregation
- Purchase toddler toothbrushes and give to families with young children as a reminder that dental care should start early
- Donate professional clothes to single moms who are trying to enter the workforce
- Share information or tickets to a concert or other community or cultural event with a family who has young children
- Say a kind word to a harried mom with a cranky child in the grocery store
- Help a neighbor or co-worker compare child care providers and learn more about how to make a good choice
